I choose to pursue Shannon. I choose to ask her out. I choose to kiss her. I choose to ask her to marry me. She choose to say yes (thankfully). We choose to stay passionately in love.
It is the same with Jesus.
You choose or not.
Jesus warned the church in Revelation 2 that though they were doctrinally sound, they had lost their first love. In other words, you can have a relationship and lose the intimacy.
