LOVE OKC is a movement.
So far 925 hours have been volunteered this week to the 17 Non-Profit organizations in the Oklahoma City metro.
Did you read that! 925! And there are a few days left for LOVE OKC WEEK 2012...
Sunday at NORTHchurch we will have a the total of hours volunteered with stories worth celebrating.
I attended the "Change for Change" outreach under the bridge downtown with over 40 people on Sunday. They provided clothes for the homeless and near homeless and feed hundreds of hungry people.
On Tuesday I went to the City Rescue Mission with 9 men to serve meals to some 400 people. The picture below is one young man I met there. His name is Will. Will was almost dead a few months back. He spent many weeks in the hospital struggling for his life. He was a heronie addict. Today, he is in the Bridge to Life program and a changed man.

PURPOSE
We believe in The Standard, our 12 core values that guide the direction of NORTH. LOVE OKC WEEK will demonstrate standard #4: We Lead The Way In Generosity – our staff and church will go above and beyond to give to the work of God in our city.
GOAL
We want see every person at NORTH volunteer one hour to make a difference in our city. We believe the hundreds of hours invested in people results in lives changed in Oklahoma City.
MISSION
LOVE OKC is a movement of Jesus-followers passionate about serving the needs of the greater metro area. By loving others we reflect Jesus and open the door for real spiritual transformation.
